1/4" Hex - Insert Drive Bits
Experience a true and pleasurable drive experience with your SplitStop screws
We recommend the use of a high-performance insert drive bit, like those available from our SplitStop Accessory product line. Though all insert drive bits look the same, they are not created equal. Identifying the proper size alone, choosing a drive bit based on the appearance of a well-conceived merchandising package or by an upper-end price, does not assure satisfactory results.
There are two key elements that make an insert drive bit perform to the highest of quality standards; a well formed, well defined shape and hardness of the steel. The first can often be judged by the naked eye. Unfortunately, the latter requires special testing equipment, as this feature is rarely, if ever, touted with specifics on the package.
Our High Performance SplitStop Accessory insert drive bits are made from steel hardened to the upper-end of the industries hardness scale, are very well defined and deliver long-lasting, quality, hassle-free results, at a very affordable price. Insert drive bits are constructed from ¼? hex-shaped steel and are available in sizes to compliment our screw product line. They are offered in two lengths; 1? (25mm) and, for longer reach or use in an impact driver, 2?.

Dimplers
Quick-insert dimpling tool for Composite Decking Now there is an easy solution to the headsetting issues that many experience during the installation of composite decking when using something other than SplitStop Titan III Composite screws.
Dimpling the surface of dense composite decking, especially when used over softer wood joists, will insure a good set every time.
The dimpling process can be performed quickly and will aid in the starting of each composite deck screw, hastening overall drive-time.
The dimpling step can be accomplished using a 1/4" butterfly (spade) bit, fitted with a drill-stop... or... by using Titan's, specially designed, quick insert, "DIMPLER". This unique tool fits into a standard bit-extension and swaps-out easily with the normal insert drive bit you use when installing the screws.
The “Dimpler” makes a great hardwood countersink as well. |
